Animated movies have the magic to cheer you up and seeing how 2020 was, everyone needed it. Disney-Pixar did not disappoint us with ‘Onward’. The story follows a world of magical creatures where two elf brothers set out on a lifetime of an adventure to bring their father back to life for a day. It tells you a wonderful story set in a suburban fantasy world that is both entertaining and encouraging.
3. Soul
We all know how it feels to be stuck in a job we don’t enjoy. This movie follows the life of a jazz musician who has a mundane job and how he learns to enjoy life and live in the moment. ‘Soul’ is a simple movie fun to watch with friends and family.
4. Sonic the Hedgehog
Just like the character Sonic, the movie is also packed with energy, action, adventure and entertainment. It works as a fun escape from reality. This video-game inspired movie is meant for the entire family to enjoy together. Add this to your viewing list right away.
5. The Willoughbys
The Willoughbys is one of those computer animated comedy films that you should definitely watch. It gets a little dark when the neglected children try to off their parents but that is what makes it unique. Through the quirky adventure of the siblings, you will realise what a good family looks like.
6. Ben 10 Versus the Universe: The Movie
This is an American animated superhero film based on the 2016 TV series Ben 10. Vilgax has returned to destroy planet Earth and Team Tennyson. Now it is up to Ben to save the day and the world by going interstellar. This animated movie of 2020 may come across a little childish to many but a true Ben 10 fan will enjoy it thoroughly.
7. Wolfwalkers
Robyn, a young apprentice of a wolf hunter encounters a wolfwalker. What is a wolkwalker and how she changes Robyn’s perception towards life makes for a compelling storytelling of Wolfwalkers. This Apple Original film is an animated fantasy adventure and a Celtic-inspired adventure that you do not want to miss.
8. A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon
This is one of the best animation movies of 2020 that had kept us going last year. Shaun came back to entertain you with his antics yet again. But his intentions are noble as he helps out his new alien friend get back to his home planet. You may find it a wee bit similar to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
9. The Croods: A New Age
If you saw the first movie, you must find out what new quest this stone-age family takes on next. There are laughs and drama and oodles of feel-good factors in this film. It is one of the best animation movies of 2020 to watch and go stress-free.
10. Weathering with You
This is a Japanese animated romantic fantasy film that tells the story of two teenagers – one runaway boy from a troubled home and another is an orphan girl who can manipulate the weather. This visually charming animated story is one of the best animation cartoon movies that is both romantic and magical.
