Seminar on Career Opportunities in Animation by MAAC and Rhythm & Hues

Kanpur & Lucknow

Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC)  Kanpur & Lucknow Centre organized a Seminar on ‘Career Opportunities in Animation’ at Ragendra Swaroop auditorium today amidst lot of fun-fare wherein the main speaker was Dileep Varma, India’s leading professional from Rhythm & Hues (R&H) Studios India working in its  lighting & modeling department.    

 

The program is inaugurated by Parshvadeep Singh, Area Manager-North, MAAC.

 

Parshvadeep,  explained the vast potential of the Indian Animation Industry & emphasized that in spite of the recession it is having a 27% growth rate. India requires close to 3 lakh animators in the next 2 years seeing the potential of the Indian animation industry. He also talked about various career options through animation training as environmental designing, game designing, architectural designing, interior designing, print media, cartoonist, compositing, sketching, modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging & editing, to name a few. The global animation market is currently at $45 billion which will go upto between $50-70 billion next year.

 

Dileep Varma,  showcased the making of various movies & television advertisements in which he has worked & talked about the technicalities involved in it. He has  led the modeling team on various Hollywood feature films like The Golden Compass, A Night at the Museum, Superman Returns, The Kingdom, The Fast & the Furious, Tokya Drift, Evan Almighty, Garfield part 2, Hulk & Narnia has also done television commercials like Amaron batteries & Alpenliebe.

The Country Head – WACOM, Rajeev Nagar, explained about WACOM pen tablets & its use in the animation industry. Being the technology partner in the seminar, Nagar also explained the association that WACOM enjoys with MAAC.

 

The young animators of MAAC showed their work in the form of show-reels, which is a part of their study. Sachin Gautam’s creative work was adjudged as the best & was awarded by Rajeev Nagar with a  WACOM.

 

 

 

The seminar was attended by large number of children of various schools & colleges who came along with their parents.
