Published on September 9, 2014, by in Graphics.

Wish to know what’s hot on the internet? Here are the top five trends that have been doing rounds in the world of web design.  Flat design This is going to be apparent in a lot of digital design that we will see this year. Web design companies, in particular, are showing a lot of interest in flat design. This is mainly due to the fact that flat design is very popular in operating systems such as Android or even the new iOS7. It is easy to configure because it does not rely on CSS, and is instead based entirely on the colours or layouts that the designer chooses to use.   Large images and video Our attention spans are getting really short. An Introduction To Digital Photography

Published on August 22, 2014, by in Graphics.

Just getting started in digital photography? What are the important aspects of this growing field? This post will introduce the basic concepts of digital photography and get you shooting great digital pictures in no time. Shoot Raw! People don’t like to shoot in the raw formats because it takes up too much room in the memory device. But remember the negatives of a film roll? If you threw them out after you got your 4×6 prints, how would you make enlargements of the picture? Think of the raw file as your original negative. You can always go back to it to make your pictures better. Composition Get the composition right. It is essential to crop in the camera and not on graphic design software. Typography – An Essential Element of Design

Published on August 8, 2014, by in Graphics.

In 2000 B.C., the brick and mortar industrialists of Mesopotamia had developed a process that made bricks tougher and long lasting than they already were. They made a name for themselves, but faced a peculiar problem – low-quality duplicates of their products had emerged in the market. In order to differentiate from the cheap imitations, they came up with the idea of stamping their bricks with nearly-even, identical characters, today known as the cuneiform text. Little did they know at the time that they had developed a process that would become a cornerstone of the design industry – they had invented typography. With the arrival of the printing press in the West in 1450, typography became a specialised occupation. With subsequent technologies, typography was put into motion — in film, television and online broadcasts — to add context to mass communication. But with the advent of the digital age, typography

Colors: Importance in Visual Communication

Published on November 21, 2012, by in Graphics.

“……..Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No. Just as one can never learn how to paint……” – Pablo Picasso The beautiful world around us is filled with colors. Without color all things around us would have been pale and lifeless. Color is one of the most important elements of a composition, be it painting, photography, film or 3D rendering. Color plays a critical role in our everyday life. Color can sway thinking, change actions, and cause reactions. Color can attract any individual’s attention or change their mood. It can cause irritation or soothe your eyes. Artists, over the years, have used color purposefully to attract attention to their piece of art. The utilization of color is one of the most effective means of creating impact in images. However, to use color effectively, one must understand a little about color. Artists,

Most people think of superheroes when they think of Comics & Graphic Novels. But in fact, there are several other genres for fans to enjoy such as horror, humor, romance, childrens’, science fiction, fantasy, action/adventure, alternative/esoteric, manga, and adult comics. This graphic cult has many followers. Some are in love with the characters; some with the artwork. Some people enjoy listening to a story told through pictures. While the simplicity of comics is universal, the artwork herein can vary according to the countries they were created in. While the comic industries in Japan, Europe and the US are well established, it is still nascent in markets like the Middle East & India. The style of Artworks in Graphic novels and comics can be broadly divided into the following groups. American Style Regarded the forefathers of the industry, the American style is hugely popular and accepted worldwide as a form of

Draupadi goes to America

Published on July 25, 2012, by in Graphics.

22 years after Mahabharat- the TV series became a rage in India; renowned comic book writer Grant Morrison and artist Mukesh Singh in America have adapted our historical epic to the graphic novel form in one of their latest ventures, called 18 days.   The thing that bothers me is that people in India still don’t look at comics as a serious literary form, only as an art form, and that too, mostly for children. Comic books are becoming more responsible; they can hold up a mirror to society and be a reflection of society as a whole. The question today is – Is it art that’s imitating life or is life imitating art? The Holocaust, Terrorist attacks of September 11th, Islamic Revolutions, unrequited love, sexual orientation of the youth: these hard-hitting topics are not what you would typically think of finding in a comic book. But these burning social
