Maya Academy concludes SRIJAN -Edufair 2010 in Mumbai
"A complete animation and career fair"

"Mumbai, May 27, 2010: SRIJAN 2010, India's only multi-city animation edufair was organized with an inspiring showcase of 3D Animation and Visual Effects works by animation students from Mumbai. The edufair was organized by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), India's leading educator in high-end 3D Animation and Visual Effects.

SRIJAN 2010 held at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai was second in the series of edufairs being held across the country. Over 3000 students and animation enthusiasts participated in this festival of creativity and knowledge. The event was also graced by reputed animation studios such as Rhythm & Hues, Pixion, Prime Focus, Reliance Media Works and Trine Entertainment Ltd.

Commenting on the success of SRIJAN 2010 in Mumbai, Mr. Ram Warrier, Business Head, MAAC, said, "SRIJAN–Edufair is organized with an objective to educate students about the ever- increasing role of technology in the 3D Animation and Visual Effects industry. It's a platform for students to portray their talent & creative works and to interact with the industry experts. The 'Job Magnet' also gives them a chance to be able to get selected by some of the leading global studios."

SRIJAN 2010 – Mumbai showcased actual animation projects done by existing students and illustrations of animation stages, the pre production, production and post-production activities. The event also witnessed several workshops, seminars & case studies by industry professionals like Aijaz Rashid from Pixion, Yiannis Koumoutzelis from Trine Entertainment Ltd. and Namita Gotephode from Rhythm & Hues.

The event also hosted a career fair 'Job Magnet', giving opportunities to students to be interviewed by various reputed studios. The studios that participated this year were Prime Focus & Reliance Mediaworks for bulk recruitment in the field of VFX and Trine Entertainment Ltd for game artists.

Participants also enjoyed the various live contests on games and digital painting conducted by premium technology brands like NVIDIA and WACOM that focused to educate students on the technology used in the 3D Animation and Visual Effects industry. There was also a 'MAAC Career Advice Helpdesk' organized to guide students on the nuances and industry expectations.

After the resounding success in Delhi and Mumbai, SRIJAN 2010 will be next organized in Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad making it the premier Animation Edufair of its kind.
